Affiliate Marketing Tips – Five Things You Can Do TODAY to Advertise for FREE!

March 29th, 2007 Linda No comments

Do you know these five things you can do today
to promote your affiliate product?

5 Ways for FREE Promotion

1. Blogging is a free way to promote affiliate products. If you are already blogging it should be easy to talk about the product you are promoting. Personal experience with a product gives credibility to your recommendation.

2. Articles can be used to promote affiliate products. You write an article that talks about the benefits of the product and your own experience. Make sure the article is informative and not a sales letter. Put you link in the resource box and submit your article to article directories.

3. Send an email to your list. You can set up a list for free through Yahoo. You can start a list with an opt-in box. Tell your list about your product and why you like it.

4. Forums are another way to promote your product. If you participate in a forum on a regular basis and the rules of forum allow you to promote a product, go ahead and promote your product.

5. Classified Ads are free with certain providers.

Affiliate Marketing – Which Products Do You Promote?

March 26th, 2007 Linda No comments

If you remember from an earlier post, I recommend starting with products that you know and love.

After you have successfully sold products that you have used, then you should look for other products in your niche. There are many ways to find affiliate products in your niche.

1. Do a search with the name of your niche plus the term ‘affiliate.’ This should bring up several affiliate programs.

2. Search the Clickbank marketplace for products in your niche. If you aren’t familiar with Clickbank, Stephen Pierce has a nice guide that will walk your through all the steps. The Clickbank Guide

3. Allen Gardyne’s site, www.AssociatePrograms.com is a great source for affiliate programs as well as general affiliate information.

4. www.AffiliatePrograms.com provides a list of affiliate programs.

5. Commission Junction, Link Share, and numerous others provide a variety of affiliate programs but if you are new and just starting out, Clickbank is the best place to start.

BOTTOM LINE: Look for the best commission possible.

The commission may be a dollar figure or a percentage. Always look at the cost of the product to determine how much you will make for each sale.

You also want to know how long your cookies are valid and what protection the program offers against click fraud. Look at how much you need to make before the program will send you a check. How does the affiliate program pay? Is it by check, money order, or paypal.

You also need to consider how difficult and costly will it be to promote this product. What is the conversion rate of the product?

Wanting you to succeed,

Linda

Affiliate Management – “Must Ask Questions” for the Entrepreneur Considering Affiliate Management

March 22nd, 2007 Linda No comments

Have you ever seen an opportunity pass you by because you didn’t believe in yourself?

Have you ever berated yourself because you should have followed your gut instincts and jumped at the opportunity?

Let me tell you… there is an opportunity here and NOW for affiliate managers! This is the time and you may have the skills. Answer these three simple questions:

    1. Do you have good communication skills?
    2. Can you send emails and make phone calls?
    3. Can you follow instructions?

How did you do?

  • If you answered ‘no’ on all three, then quit reading now and find another job.
  • If you answered ‘yes‘ on one, you have a chance
  • If you answered ‘yes‘ on two, you are in the game.
  • if you answered ‘yes‘ on all three you are a winner!!

In order to be a good affiliate manager, you have to be able to communicate with the team of affiliates. You have to be able to motivate and encourage them.

In order to get more affiliates then you need to send a few emails and make a few phone calls.

To train your affiliates you have to be able to follow instructions.

Stu McLaren is an affilaite manager for some of the top Internet ‘gurus.’ He gave a lot of good content about affiliate management.

Here is what you need to do:

    1. Go to www.WebTechAffiliates.com and sign up to get access to the calls.
    2. Once inside, scroll down to Stu’s photo and listen to the recording.
    3. Sign up for the Affiliate Marketing Conference. (If you are serious about a career change.)

Wanting to see you succeed,

Linda

Affiliate Marketing – Do You Know These Affiliate Marketing Terms?

March 19th, 2007 Linda No comments

Terms – Need to Know

A few terms that are key to know are:

Advertisement Costs

·        CPC/PPC – Cost per click or pay per click.  A good example of this is Google Adwords.  Every time someone clicks on your ad you a cost.  Therefore it is referred to as ‘cost per click.’

·        CPA – Cost per action.  You pay each time a particular action is taken.

·        CPM – Cost per thousand.  You pay this amount every one thousand impressions.

Affiliate Terms

·        Affiliate Link – also known as a ‘Referral URL’.  This is the link that you want others to click on.  The program that you sign up under will track how many times that link is clicked and the number of sales.

·        Charge Back – if a customer returns the product, the credit card company will reverse the charges and you lose a sale.

·        Conversion Rate – this number is usually a percentage showing the number of sales in relation to the number of clicks.

·        Cookies – a piece of code that is placed on a person’s computer when they click on an affiliate link. (NOTE: The cookie does not harm the computer. It simply makes sure you get the credit for the sale.)

·        Tiers – some affiliate programs have two tiers which means that if you recruit other affiliates under you, you get a percentage of their sales as well as your own

·        Tracking – different programs provide different levels of tracking.  Some will just track sales while others will track impressions and clicks.

Wanting you to succeed,

Linda
